i have one drive with 2 partitions, one for windows the other for my documents. i used acronis Disk Director Suite to make another partition to install Linux out of the documents drive. everything went smooth till it ask me to restart the computer to finish the process. when it restarted the acronis window pop out doing his work but after a while a error came out saying that it was unable to read the sector, it restarted back again and now it says "Missing Operating System"

how can i get my stuff fix?

Normally, the Windows partition will be the Active partition. Boot to the DD CD and start DD. Select the Manual Mode option. Set the Windows partition Active, apply the change and reboot. See if Windows will start.

I finally was able to boot windows back on by reinstalling XP back on the partition where it was previously. now i can see my two partition but when i try to enter the partition where my documents were it says that the drive is not formatted and need to be format. i have lots of work in there and dont want to lose it. is there any way i could get that data back.

*in no way i have formatted that partition it just turned unformatted so i guess the data is still in there hopefullyo_O o_O
