crash in the middle of partition

Hi.
I was resizing a partition using PM. It rebooted the computer to access the local drive when during the middle of the process it crashed. When I restarted the comp couldn't start because no OS was found on the disk.

So I took the drive onto another computer to try to save the data but it says the drive has to be formatted.

HELP! I need to save some data off this drive. Any thoughts? Advice? Suggestions? If I format the drive would I be able to retrieve the data using a recovery program? Ack! Please please help!!
