cpu software

    do any of these work? i tried process tamer and it say's that a balloon would appear when it does anything but even when i open up alot of stuff on purpose to stress my cpu the process tamer doesnt do anything? i tried other products like that one and they also dont do anything either

    I prefer and use process lasso .It has 32 bit and 64bit versions and runs on w7,and has an option for balloon notifications.Process lasso most certainly works and lowers priority of programs that use a lot of cpu for a long period.Whether its needed or not on a modern computer is debatable and a personal choice.I use it because it is a constant visual cpu usage monitor in my tray.It also shows me which programs may be behaving badly with high cpu usage and it also allows me to terminate a process from it gui.Task manager also accomplishes this ,but i prefer process lasso.

    Try running Hyper PI - you should see your cpu software spring into action.
