Need info. What operating system are you using? What program tells you of the corrupted files?

Avast does an integrity check on your files when you install the program.
If the program sees changes, it may call them corrupt.

    Have you tried their forum?

I really would suggest posting this on their forum. They will have the RIGHT answer.

XP is different than earlier Windows systems. It uses system file checker in the accessories folder under the tools menu. You could scan your system to see if Windows shows any files that are suspect and compare to Avast.
