Copying a HD over a LAN ?

    I'm just a mere novice at working with PCs. Will Acronis 8.0 for a PC copy over a LAN? I'm out of room on the PC that I need to copy/image it's HD. I would like to be able to copy all drives and partitions to a larger drive on another PC. Once copied to the larger faster HD ,"that" drive would replace the smaller drive that was copied. ( am I making any sense?) Would all the drivers/settings etc. be copyed exact if copying over a LAN is possible?

    Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Imaging works fine over LAN. Cloning, however, I'm told needs to be performed with both drives in the same PC.
