Here are the details. I occassionally get popups while browsing. I tend to think I am a fairly safe browser, I dont visit any explicit sites if you know what I mean. I frequent only a few sites, and am weary of going to recoommended others by friends.

I cannot access my hotmail account. This computer is strictly for home use.

I use IE. When I close IE, I get a LOT of popups. I will get three at once, and they pop up no matter how many times I close them. Either they have a set limit of popping up, or Im really fast..... but Ive seen as many as 14 of em pop up I think, even after closing.

    here is the log

first copy these files and zip them and send to submit@thespykiller.co.uk with a short note referring to this thread
    C:\WINDOWS\mxTarget.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\alchem.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\ldrclnrf.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\joyv.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\playsvrd.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\a32siprr.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\scriptc.exe

Before you start, please unzip hijackthis to a separate folder. The program will make backups in the folder in the folder it's in.
These easily get lost in a Temp folder or get scattered all over the desktop

Run hijackthis, tick these entries listed below and ONLY these entries, double check to make sure, then make sure all browser & email windows are closed and press fix checked

Reboot into safe mode by following instructions here: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2001052409420406
then as some of the files or folders you need to delete may be hidden do this:
Open Windows Explorer & Go to Tools > Folder Options. Click on the View tab and make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is checked. Also uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" and untick "hide extensions for known file types" . Now click "Apply to all folders"
    Click "Apply" then "OK"

    Delete these files

    C:\WINDOWS\mxTarget.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\alchem.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\ldrclnrf.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\joyv.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\playsvrd.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\a32siprr.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\scriptc.exe

    then
Reboot normally & see if problems are gone
