    The ESet icon in the taskbar constantly spins on start-up - not allowing me to do anything else on the computer.

    In an earlier thread, the apparent solution is to upgrade to the latest version, with the latest definition files.

    My current version is 4.0.467.0.

    I tried to install the latest version on top - but I get the error message that I don't have permissions to the registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ESET\ESET Security\Current Version\Scheduler\101".

    I get the same error if I try to uninstall my old version first.

    I tried to change the permissions on the sheduler\101 key - but message "not allowed".

    I am able to "give full control" under permissions for the "ESET Security" key;
    but for any lower key (such as scheduler) I am unable to change the permissions.

    So I am unable to uninstall my old version.
    I am unable to install the new version on top of my old.
    I am unable to give ESET the necessary permissions in the registry.

    So what do I do?
    Thanks.
