The “official” Paragon messages describing their products´ features, coming from different sources, are very confusing. On February 13 a new HDM 14 update appeared in my account. Its number is 10.1.21.471_000. The only obvious change I noticed in HDM 14 Suite was a new “Incremental Backup to VD” wizard. On March 3 a notice appeared in the blog, announcing “major new features” for HDM 14 Suite and Pro. Today, March 24, I received an e-mail announcing “HDM 14 Service Pack 2” (which one was the SP 1?). Improvements in HDM 14 Suite: This is the same 10.1.21. 471_000 build, which has been available since February 13. Hardly important enough changes to justify a “Service Pack” label. And not a word about the other features mentioned in the blog.
Wasn't the previous version for the Suite 10.1.21.334_000 released in Dec? Now it is v10.1.21.471_000 as for the Pro (released 13-02-2014). Yes, it is a bit confusing. The e-mail I received talks about Service Pack 1 (not 2). My visit to “My Account” (HDM14 Pro) told me that there is a new version of the Retention Wizard; now v3.0.2.9 released 27-02-2014.
I forgot another piece of the puzzle, this one from the webpage (see image). In the case of HDM 14 471 Suite, this is wrong. Oracle Virtual Box support is not available, but Check VD Integrity is (and works well, by the way). The other image shows part of the e-mail I received today. It refers to SP 2.
Does your account show a new release date or the same 2/13/2014? BTW-Does anyone else have a hard time logging into their account as I do?
No. As of today, my account shows 10.1.21.471_000, dated 13-02-2014, HDM 14 Suite. The point is that for several weeks after this release, there have been appearing confusing and contradictory messages about it. Different names, different claimed features. Some features claimed to exist for "all" versions are not present in the Suite. Also, some features supposed to exist only in Pro version are in the Suite.
Just a case of sales/marketing people releasing incorrect info. Have seen similar situation on automobile related stuff.
