I need some. I have been using Nod32 for 2 years now & am very happy with it. I can stay with V2.7 I know, but Eset would not bring out a new AV/SS using a different methodology if they did not think it was needed. I have not tested any of the betas/RC's or finals. When I read about all the problems that users are having with the finals my reaction is to back away. There does not appear to be any concensus about the state of V3. I appreciate that there must be many satisfied users who do not post but the paucity of feedback from Eset is of some concern. I can only judge the readiness of V3 from what I read here. Can anybody shed some light on the situation. I do not have the time or means to 'suck it and see', it just has to work. ps. this is not an attack on Eset, just me trying to understand/decide.
Some people have problems but others dont. If youre really concerned, just wait as more builds are released and more bugs are fixed.
I was using Nod32 v2, and I updated to Nod 32 v3. I have windows vista, and the AV is working in my pc perfectly. I am one of those that are very satisfied using Nod32. I think it is one of the best AV, if not the best...
I've only had the upgrade (for the AV only) for four days but, so far, I haven't had any problems with it. I'm using it with XP Home, Comodo Firewall and AntiMalware (formerly BOClean). I'm on dialup and haven't noticed any difference in speed downloading and opening pages etc. (using Opera). I am still learning to like the new icon!
It working 99% great for me. Only picking at the mail double tags keeps it from being perfect. Otherwise, I can say its absolutely the best, even with double email tags, lol.
I updated twice to 551.0 and then to 563.0 and it's been flawless. If you are afraid and have FD-ISR with a primary Snapshot and a secondary, you can do your upgrade on the primary and check it out. Or if you can check it out in a VM first, do that. Or you can wait a week and give them a chance to fix any bugs there may be, and then upgrade. Be not afraid.
I updated to 3.0 on Vista Home Premium, found that the scanning time noticeably increased especially when downloading, and went back to 2.7 for the time being.
I'll second that. I wonder if sent e-mails have double Eset entry's as well. I guess I could send myself an e-mail and see.
If you enable all scanned emails, it will add one when you send it(if enabled) and then 2 more when you receive it. (just to clarify). Only one gets added if you don't enable them on received emails.
Ah, there's the secret. I disabled them for received mail except for infected. Thus only one in sent mail. I wonder if ESET is going to put that on their list of bugs to fix.
NOD32 v3.0.563.0 has been working flawlessly on my to machines 1 XP Pro and the Other Vista Ultimate just as someone said some are having trouble and most are not! TH
Working fairly decent on XP. I've never had any of the problems that others have had but I did notice a slow down when going to my second drive where all my downloaded programs are stored. It seems to take about 30 sec. to refresh the icons. Also on my C drive when I go to Start>All Programs>Games. Sometimes it expands to an empty box and I have to wait for them to come up. I rechecked with Nod 2.7 and I didn't have the refresh problem but it's nothing serious so I put Nod v3 back on and I can live with it. I've reported it so maybe it will help them find solutions to fix everyone else's problems. It's a keeper.
Maybe for the same reason they make a new car model every year, even though last years model might be a good one.
I feel kind of stupid now. I always try and run chkdsk every month on my C drive but never thought about it on my E drive. No hesitation whatsoever now. Now I can say Nod v3 is running like a charm. Thanks
