Thanks! Are you running SAS and SB realtime or On Demand? Also, any benefit to adding DefenseWall, Prevx 3.0, Threatfire or Zemana AntiLogger with CIS? Already running SandboxIE here.

    Thanks!

So, you are running SpywareBlaster "on demand" too? BTW, you are right, CIS is amazingly light and fast!

    Many Thanks!

    @ a32coa

CIS is what we call "the big cannon" it cover all of your pc not just the ones under SB hood , mark as NO1 in any test sheet out there , its support is amazing , its not a "1 man crew" method , a big company is behind it, and it got a growing fast av engine + Detection Rate .

just for the numbers avira got 99.6% and CIS av got 96.2% in the last test sheet i saw.(Malware samples used in this test: 395.844)<~~ impressed

and yes , almost forgot , ITS FREE

And you will keep seeing those detections rise! :)

Coming up with some clever techniques with version after v3.9 but before version 4.0. So before CIS 4.0, there will be a another version. And this version will have a big impact on detection further. :)

    Cheers,
    Josh

    Thanks 3xist i appreciate it!

BTW I don't agree with egemen...

-He does not add some explanation to the changelog description (so thanks, but now I know as much as before).
-It's a serious bug, IMHO, so I would'nt diminish to the issues seriousness (if "nothing serious" means CIS termination... )

Sincerely I've always supported Comodo, but this is not the right way...

    I'm a bit disappointed.:cautious:

Maybe it is something he can explain better, Never the less, You can try PMing him your self and ask why it was nothing serious. :)

Best scenario that this is fixed for Vista users, Maybe something we are mis interrupting here (I'm a non vista user, So no idea).

A great suite (latest .494 beta)although I choosed to install only the fw/proactive defense without the AV module and safe surf...
    Question:
Is there really any need for the 'safe surf ' with it's ask toolbar if you already have sandboxie, or better to just skip it ?

There've been people mentioning that with what's built into CIS itself by now makes the toolbar redundant - I would say skip it in any case. I'll never run any toolbars - and why should I? I run Opera - there's never support for it there. :D

I am really impressed by comodo's support, yesterday i was doing some testing with comodo, and out of 10 it didn't catch 3 malwares. So i thought lets submit them to comodo.

Now today about an hour ago the database updated, again i checked those files and this time the antivirus detected them, with perfect description of the malwares. Really excellent work by these guys.

    What About definations quality?

i sent 94 my crypted filecoder samples to comodo and avira.

    Comodo added about 90 definations.
    Avira added only 8 definations.
Avira's definations are generic, Stefa say 1 defination can catch 1800+ malware

Comodo's definations mostly arent generic , 1 defination can only catch 1 malware

Malware defination counter show us nothing, only i think, am i wrong?

Not: i dont say "comodo is bad" or "avira better than comodo", i like comodo very much, i send my samples them

There is a fine line and mixture of both kind of signatures.

Not every malware belongs to a family and hence you have to create just one signature to catch just one malware. And then there are some variants that belong to the same family where with one signature you can catch many of those variants.

As of the 3.6 million signatures, I believe there is over 300,000 signatures that catch variants too. So there is just under 4 million in total atm...

Glad to have you part of the Malware Research Group at the forums may moons. :)

    Josh

Looking at these numbers don't really say a lot IMHO, every AV vendor counts their signatures differently.

    Hey guest.

Maybe be faster to use the forum (Malware Research Board), That is dedicated for Malware Research People and AV Analysts watch that board, hence detection will be added quicker. :)

Keep up the good work! :) Really appreciate it!

With v3.9, That version has solved alot of the FP's issues. And as you can see on the forums, the AV Analysts are extremely responsive when it comes to fixing them.

Re: COMODO Internet Security 3.9.73015.489 BETA Released

Again i tested another malware, comodo didn't catch it, sent it too them, so lets see how quick they are this time. :)

Also i uploaded the malware to virustotal and only 11/40 caught it, so you cant really blame comodo for not catching it.

Only, Symmantec, AVG, Avira, Avast, Sophas, Microsoft, Fport, gdata,Authentium,Fport and prevx catch it.

    Cant blame comodo at all.
