Is D+ on Windows 7 64 Bit equally effective as it is on x86?

I don't see why not. I've used COMODO on my families x86 computers, and on my x64. Safe sailing since.

I do not think that it will be equally effective. Windows 7 x64 has kernel patch protection (KPP), which limits capabilities of antiviruses as well as viruses (especially rootkits).

Yes 'equally effective' would probably be an overstatement, although the 64bit OS' greater inherent protection probably evens it out.

Supposedly every HIPS in 64bit is weaker thank in 32bit, because win x64 will protect you better.

I used Comodo w/D+ & Avira free. No problems in a VM 7-64 windows. It should work no problems. Just make sure you backup first. 7-64 is not something to be trifled with. My experience is that it allows no error so be careful.
