Just bought ATU 8.0 last week. I was also able to create an image of Win XP Pro, after having just loaded the OS onto the drive, and effectively restore that image to a different, freshly formatted, drive. However, once I installed all my usual programs, made another image (and verified it as good thru Acronis TI) then go thru th e restore process, Acronis shows that the process was successful. Then when I boot the newly imaged disk it hangs at the blue Win XP Pro "Welcome" screen. I suspeced the MBR was perhaps corrupted and, although I don't think I should have to go to this hassle after forking out $50 for this application, I did so using the Windows Repair Console--still froze at the "welcome" screen.

    RUNNING:
ACRONIS TRUE IMAGE 8.0 BUILD 796
NTSF DUAL-PARTITIONED DRIVE= Western Digital ATA EIDE 120GB SE
