I had cloned my C: to a external USB drive as a backup of C:. I decided to restore the harddrive C: from the backup of C: on the external USB drive. The USB drive was actually E: so I did a clone of that on to my harddrive and now Windows XP will not me login. Every time I login I keep getting logged out. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

offline edit registry value HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\userinit

    from C:\WINDOWS\system32\userinit.exe
    to userinit.exe

Looking at the above suggestion I don't believe that it is correct. I checked my XP Home registry and find the Value data to be: C:\WINDOWS\system32\userinit.exe, (with the comma).
