    Hi

I like to be able to clone my disc without installing any software.
I have seen alot of discussion about TI and BartPE.
If have understood it correctly this will help me.

Before paying for a license i hope it meets my requirements:
    1. Create/restore image from external drive (USB)
    2. Same boot cd for xp and vista
    3. Replace boot cd with boot usb stick (this would just be a bonus)

Maybe bartpe and vista doesent work.
I understand that this is an acronis thread, but are there any other
software that would help me if this doesnt work?

    Thank you

    Ok, i just found this:
    http://club.cdfreaks.com/f3/clone-hard-disk-image-bootable-cd-185124/

which says: "The more recent versions of Acronis True Image will allow you to create a Bootable Rescue Disc (CD/DVD) once installed.

Pretty much all of the features including Backup and Restore can be accessed if the system is booted from the disc. The interface is exactly like the Windows interface.
I have uninstalled True Image from my system and now I run it exclusively from the Bootable Rescue Disc."

    This is what I want......
So, just before before I pay for this app: Does it meet my requirements.
One cd for xp/vista and I can perform create/restore image from boot cd?

    Thank you

Yes, you can do that. But to correct slightly what you've quoted, True Image has always had the feature to create the bootable Rescue CD which, when booted, gives you all the basic features - Backup, Clone, Recovery. It is only the Windows like gui that is a recent feature on the CD.

    Hello cloneguy;

I believe this is what you want.
    http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/copywipe.php

I have successfully used this to clone SATA drives to/from USB as well as Bios.
I have successfully used ti to clone in XP and Vista.
I have not used it via a USB drive.

It runs from the CD; it doesn't need to be installed.
(You must boot from the CD).

It is absolutely free to use.

It also includes a disc wipe function which I have also used.

-Give it a try; I believe you will like the application.
