I tried the latest version of Classic Shell in my Acer Laptop with Windows 8.1 but no luck, even the older version failed. During the installation process a pop up box dialog says that win32 dll failed to register. This is I think are the best program to restore old time ways that was gone in windows 8.1 coz other free programs are loaded with malwares and ads and are buggy.
This is your second topic about apps not running correctly, so I think you might want to reinstall Win 8.
It's ok now, after windows update and install....and then... pause Kaspersky and disable Spyshelter it was installed successfully. I think, Kaspersky antivirus is overpowering and has some more intense active multi-layered protection, unlike NOD32 that don't need to be disabled.
