Its probably the best internet security suite. I just don't use because of the sandboxing and the UI i don't like. But its fantastic. ;)

I have spammed all over this place about CIS' HIPS is somewhat buggy and forgetting my custom whitelist. Been like that in 6.0, 6.1, and 6.2. No idea about 6.3, but I'll just wait until version 7 to expect any improvements. The sandbox is basically not rational to use in real-life scenarios. The AV has a pretty well detection rate, but a bit heavy. Can't say about the firewall since I never see much value in outbound firewalls.

The suite isn't that bad really. For a free suite I think it's one of the best. The sandbox isn't really that bad. No it's not as refined as sandboxie but it does it's job. The AV is a little heavy at times but you can change it to stateful rather than on-access. You can modify it to the way you like it. It does take some getting used to adjusting things. Once you get it it runs rather smoothly.

Well, bad or good is the matter of users' perspectives. But I don't think most people would be interested in exploring their download folders to get their downloaded files. And excluding folders will kill the purpose of sandboxing IMO.

The comodo sandbox directs all download to the shared space folder. I never had an issue with using Comodo sandbox. It does it's job. Never said it was pretty but it works non the less.

CIS free and CIS paid are the same except the paid version comes with extra software/subsciptions like trustconnect, geekbuddy, and virus free guarantee

Those work with a classical HIPS disable the sandbox and set Defense in Paranoid mode, deny for rule and allow for exception. :)

My current experience with CIS free:

PC#1 - CIS 5.8 and then 5.10 for several years until now. No problems at all.

PC#2, my own PC - some problems especially irritating when USB disk turn unreadable, though it's rare.

PC#3 - I had to change CIS for Avast free with EMET as CIS causes lags there.

I have no issue with the firewall.Used for years, quite happy with it. Just wonder if the av would replace a paid av

I believe if you were OK with Comodo FW then you must be OK with CIS full. At least it's worth to try it.

    I tried V6 before.

It also blocked my VPN service.
There were lots of program updates with which Restart were required.

    Some ordinary programs were sandboxed.

and worst of all.... It made my bluetooth driver nonfunctional (hp laptop with built in Win 7 home Premium and built in bluetooth)

    So.....My experience is not good.

Did Comodo craft that folder with special permissions that differs it with normal folders?

Nope. It's just the default folder that is created on your desktop. All files are saved to it that are downloaded from the sandbox.
