Currently on my Linux Lite setup I'm running Chrome release Version 35.0.1916.153. I've noticed it's been quite a few weeks since it last updated, and when I run apt-get update I see the following:

Does anyone know why Chrome would be held back?

Yes. I always run as follows:

    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get upgrade

    EDIT

well I managed to upgrade Chrome manually via sudo apt-get install google-chrome-stable. Still, I don't know why it would otherwise be kept back via the usual sudo apt-get upgrade route??
