    Hi

A Windows Xp system I am working on continuously boots up and performs a CHKDSK. If it is let run it just keeps looping. If I 'hit any key' before it reaches its countdown it will boot into XP as expected.

Any ideas what is going on, why and how I could resolve this problem.

    Windows XP, 256MB RAM, 1.7GHz Processor, PANDA Anti-Virus and Firewall, LAvasoft's Ad-aware, CW-Shredder, HiJackThis.

Hi Dromelia, and Welcome to the Forums!

Could you take a look in Taskmanager and tell me if you find "MSBLAST.EXE" in the list of running programs?
Could you also tell me if your version of xp was an upgrade, or a fresh install from the cd?
Additional connections (ie: printer, scanner, etc.)?

    I will await your reply.
