"(Reuters) -Broadcom Inc said on Thursday it will buy cloud service provider VMware Inc in a $61 billion cash-and-stock deal to further diversify the chipmaker's business into enterprise software..." https://finance.yahoo.com/news/chipmaker-broadcom-buy-vmware-61-110718844.html
I keep thinking it's a bit weird that Broadcom wants to transform from a purely chip based to a software company. And VMware was also bought by Dell years ago and apparently it wasn't the best move at that time, but I suppose now they are pretty happy.
I'm guessing that this deal will be cancelled, VMware should probably stay an independent company. https://techcrunch.com/2022/12/20/eu-to-probe-61b-broadcom-vmware-deal-over-competition-concerns/
