My own scares me, What China does in the name of "decency" can easily be done by others in the name of "security". Sure you don't think some silly little scroll of paper labeled "Constitution" can REALLY stop anyone....do ya? Ok, no more tinfoil hat comments, *pinky swear* in all seriousness, China has tried to do all this before and people get right around it. In a political sense, it's a huge thing, in a technical sense, it's really not that big of a deal.

I wonder what the penalty for removing the software is.

All this is pointless. Even my mother understands the technology behind proxy servers so the idea that China can supress thought en masse is ridiculous. It just creates an underground movement set out to destroy the thought police.
