    I just revived this ancient machine. Things seem much better now but would appreciate if someone could check the log.... thank you in advance

    thanks dvk01! I do have all the updates installed. Is there a more powerful or quicker defrag program out there for Win98 I could use instead of the windows defrag? how about a disk checker for errors? Thanks again!
