we have a client who has Acronis Home 11 and we can't find where to change the drive signature and there is some software that is not working. I know we did this with Acronis before, but maybe not home. Can someone clue us in?

Are you using windows xp? By drive signatures are you talking about drive letters? True image won't change drive letters after the restoration. It will let you assign them before you restored the drive.

If the hard drive won't boot, you need a program like "paragon justboot corrector" that works from a boot cd. It can change drive letters directly from the registry of a non-booting hard drive. That's the quick 5 minute way to do it. But this only works on xp/server2003/2000. Vista is entirely different.

Perhaps you are thinking of this link. See under drive letters which references signatures. Commonly used one is #3 Kawecki's trick.

My recollection is that this can be done with a program such as Partitio Magic, perhaps, withj Acronis disk Director.

Likely you want VolumeID, which now comes from Microsoft (since they bought out System Internals). You can get it here:
