    Sometimes when I connect to the internet with the laptop. The "Change the protection mode" message comes up and it has an IP of 169.254.188.0? Where does this IP come from? Thanks. I have the version 5.

    It's the current IP address of your NIC.

    How do I find the IP of the NIC on Windows 7?

    ipconfig /all

    I think its meant to be 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0?
