I've written a long, thorough review of Chakra Linux 2012.09 64-bit edition, covering live session, installation in a quadruple-boot configuration and post-install usage, including Wireless, Samba, look & feel, multimedia playback - Flash and MP3, three installation attempts with automatic wrong language selection and partitioning mistakes, Kapudan desktop setup, applications choice, package management, bundles, suspend & resume, many problems like no desktop effects, high memory and CPU usage, no printing, weird application issues and crashes, numerous other glitches and bugs, and more.

    Comprehensive review, thank you Mrk.
Linuxforall is bound to latch onto this one. :)

Now, when time allows, I think a test of Manjaro (also Arch based) will prove to be a more rewarding experience. It's climbing steadily on Distrowatch, now at number 55.

It works brilliantly, KDE 4.92 is snappy even on limited machines, would love if they add apparmor in default install. Samba with any arch or for that matter any distro apart from Debian/Ubuntu is a nightmare, setting up the server is one of the strongest points of Debian/Ubuntu, Samba server is a no go with Chakra.

The issues listed in the test is due to Arch and Chakra's move to systemd, its has been deployed recently in Chakra and they need to weed out the issues.
