The new version CatchPulse has not yet been released. Therefore, it would be impractical to change the website.
If anyone held a contest to come up with The Worst Possible Name for an AV, then "CatchPulse" would surely be among the winners.
I agree with you. It is a silly name. "Why are legumes called pulse?" "Pulses are part of the legume family (any plants that grow in pods), but the term “pulse” refers only to the dry edible seed within the pod. Beans, lentils, chickpeas and split peas are the most common types of pulses. Pulses are special because they have distinct health benefits apart from other legumes."

i never cared about Secureaplus which is only a bunch of online-scanners: https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/SecureAPlus for offline it uses clamav, clamav is open source, its detections rates is less than others. secureaplus never had its own investigations like eset, kaspersky or others, its results is based on other - but people like to pay for such crap. i was not suprised that it is now covered with another name, whether it has been sold or bought.
In the Pro version, they also have Avira offline signatures, its just Apex AI in Lite and Plus version.
do not change my view of the things as they are. BTW apex is trend micro. seems that SA+ changes engines as one undies. very trustable, and for the results
I honestly don't care if your opinion is changed or not. I'm just correcting your inaccurate information.
catchpulse is a bad name. Lots of results for heart rate monitoring devices come up for most search engines. Both medical and fitness stuff
Apex isn't their own thing anymore? Also the whole point of SAP is for the whitelisting. The scanners are just a helpful for figuring out what's safe to allow.
I said this already, the whole point of SAP is for the whitelisting/application control. The scanners SecureAge rents are to help the user figure out what's safe to allow.
Here is a discussion on this topic: https://malwaretips.com/threads/apex-vs-wisevector-vs-sophos-vs-voodoai-vs-other.97951/
the essence of all https://support.secureaplus.com/introduction-to-secureaplus-application-whitelisting/ complete nonsense, such feature. why is such feature needed when user installed unknown software by purpose? either the setup and its results are clean, or user should not install it. or use a VM or software like sandboxie to evaluate. this is very simple. ofc software in the past could change from good to bad, see audacity from muse. in this case SAP whitelist fails - if it does not check the new hash - when audacity was already installed and got that bad update. the article does not mention altered files. setups with the same content changed in the past, eg unlocker, was bundled with different kind of adware, although its setup name did not change. BTW based on VT any unlocker setup has to be killed. nevertheless there is no need for SAP because of this feature, and never based on this article. the VT results are spread to all participients, so defender (and others) would get same results and would block it as pup/pum.
