Can't log into Vista after image restore

I've imaged my laptop which is running Vista using TI Workstation build 3889. I can create and restore the image with no problem but after the restore I cannot log into Vista. It comes up to the login prompt, I enter my password then it says "Preparing your desktop" and then it goes to a solid blue screen where it sits forever. I've reloaded the laptop from scratch a few times and re-imaged but always with the same results.

Any ideas? Tks.

I read somewhere that Vista has a Repair option that might fix that. I don't have Vista so cannot give details.

 

Tks for the tip. I should have mentioned, I already tried that but it doesn't make any difference. It behaves the same after the repair process.
