Hello all! I just successfully restored an image onto a server (Windows Server 2003 on SP1). This image was from this server and restored to the same server...no hardware changes at all. When the restored server comes up, I get the CTRL+ALT+DEL screen to login. When I do, it looks like it's about to log me in, then loops right back the CTRL+ALT+DEL screen. I can't break the loop. I am using a local admin account with the right password. Any thoughts on this one? Thanks.

    Hello John,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response. Could you please create a screen shot of the CTRL+ALT+DEL screen and send it with the report.txt file to support@acronis.com along with the link to this thread? This will allow us to investigate the problem and help you with the solution. If you do not receive any response from Acronis Support Team within 48 hours please let me know your Acronis Request # which will be sent to you in autoreply.

    Thank you.

I was able to fix this issue. For anyone else that may run into this problem, here is what I did:

    1. After the image is restored and you can't login, boot the server from the OS CD (i.e. Win2k3 or Win2k)
    2. Select the Repair Option
    3. Log in as Administrator
    4. From the Recovery Console, type FIXMBR
    5. Remove the CD and boot server from Win 9.x boot disk
    6. At command line, run FDISK /MBR
    7. Remove disk and reboot...problem solved!

I am not sure why this happens when I restore the whole disk back to its hardware, but it works.
