    Hi!
My pc got infected with a lot of stuff 3 days ago, ad-aware deleted most of it. I still have an entry called tv media in programs and I can't delete it. Ad-aware doesn't recognize it...So I installed hijackthis and here is my log....
    I use norton 2004, ad-aware and a hardware firewall
    Thank you for help!

    Hi theda,

Any harmless extension will do. Try naming it hosts.bck
It is only a test meant to find out if the problem is in there.

    Regards,

    Pieter

Can you post a new HijackThis log?
Although I think this is a false positive, I would like to have another look.

Errmmm. I think you would need a firewall to control that and I don't see one running.

I would at least stop the process when your cousin is not helping, because it looks like a big risk to me:
    http://www.avp.ch/avpve/trojan/backdoor/ra.stm
and I think it can certainly be used to use your computer as a spambot (sending unwanted email from your computer, which would explain some of the symptoms)

    Regards,

    Pieter

A hardware firewall is a good start to block unsollicited inbound traffic.
I think you can see the weak points from that sentence.

If outbound is not checked, how do you control what gets sollicited?
