    I've have the acronis suite ver 10.2117, and I activated the OS Selector.. I'm having problems with it when I boot my computer, it starts to load, and i get "Error 1 - Acronis OS Selector cannot find the necessary configuration files. please reinstall OS Selector"

    I've tried to deactivate OS Selector in windows, and it asks me to reboot- and then i'm brought back to the same screen. When I reboot and bypass acronis and go directly into windows- it says that acronis is still activated..

    How can i remove the OS Selector completely, and start again from scratch?

    Hello shockme17,

    Thank you for choosing Acronis Partition and Disk Managing Software.

    Please repair the MBR (Master Boot Record) of the hard disk using one of the following methods:

    Windows 95/98/Me – boot from Startup Disk (floppy) and run "fdisk /mbr" command;
    Windows 2000/XP/2003 – boot from Installation Disc (CD) into Recovery Console and run "fixmbr" command.

    This will remove Acronis OS Selector from the MBR. After that please boot into Windows and try to reinstall Acronis OS Selector.

    If the issue still remains then please create Acronis Report in the way described below:

    - Download and run Acronis Report Utility;
    - Select the "Create Bootable Floppy" option;
    - Insert a blank floppy disk in the A: drive and proceed with creation of the bootable floppy;
    - Boot the computer from this diskette and wait for report creation process to finish;
    - Collect the report file from the floppy.

    Please submit a request for technical support. Attach the collected report.txt file to your request along with the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with the solution.

    Thank you.
