Cannot Update Nero through Nero

When it comes to firewalls I am a Newbie. I searched the forums but cannot find an answer to my problem although I am sure someone else has experienced and solved it.

Nero 7 has a function going through tools that checks for what portions have been updated and downloads just those parts instead of the whole package. If I run the update checker it will always tell me that everything is up to date. If I shut down LooknStop Nero checks and then downloads and installs the updates. Anytime LooknStop has put a a popup about Nero I have allowed it access.

Is there any plugin or simple way to solve my problem without sacrificing security?

its likely u need to create a rule to allow Nero. when u try an update, check teh logs for blocked connection and create a rule.
