    I am getting really annoyed here with NOD32. I have installed on many computers, however since they have changed the policy to require a persons name for Home edition, I have had a nightmare in getting the damn app to Update!

    I have tried many options including:
    * How to update username and password (from support@eset.com)
    * http://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN2792
    --> Really dumb - but I made sure I followed it
    * http://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN2850&ref=wsf
    --> No firewall
    --> update.eset.com responds
    --> No proxy
    * http://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN332
    --> Tested various servers - all responding
    * http://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN2372&ref=wsf
    --> No malware scanned
    * Uninstalled, run CCleaner to remove invalid registry links and reinstalled
    * o_O I am unable to change the update server - its greyed out
    * Checked other installed AV - only Malwarebytes free installed

    I did have activation issues originally after changing the name, however Eset Support have updated the license and activates correctly, however the update will just not update!

    OS = Windows 7 x64 SP1
    Firewall = None set to disable or stop any outbound connections (Windows Default)
    Eset Installed = Eset NOD32 Antivirus 5.2.9.1
    Eset License = ESET NOD32 Antivirus and valid until 2015
    Last Update = 7010 (20120329)

    Any help would be greatly appreciated... and thanks in advanced.

    Update server cannot be changed in Home version because only ESET Endpoint products can create a mirror.
    If you're getting an error while attempting to update from ESET's servers, please copy the exact error message from your ESET Event log and paste it here.

    I have tried clearing cache everytime I go into that section. Its driving me nuts and this is the first time I have had so much difficulty with an install. I want the "NOD32 installs on every machine without any problem" back!

    Argh, now when I try to uninstall for the 3rd time I am getting the following error:

    "Error opening installation log file. Verify that the specified log file location exists and is writeable."

    At least this is giving me some clues - I will manually uninstall and delete any existing folders if found.

    Done the following:

    1. Downloaded the Uninstaller and removed AV (Refer to log below)
    2. Run CCleaner and removed 2 Eset DLL links and no Eset folders found
    3. Run Installer (eset_nod32_antivirus_live_installer) with Admin privileges
    4. Restarted upon install complete
    5. Checked update - failed and the logs follows

    According to the error "Update module Invalid Username and/or Password", it looks like there's a problem with your Username/Password. Have you tried copying and pasting them to the appropriate fields in the Update setup (Setup (F5) -> Update -> Update) ? If you run license verification (Help and support -> Vaerify license validity), do you get an error?

    I manually entered the username and password via Settings, and as before, it has validated, however still will not update. Here is the log after manually updating/inserting the username and password via advanced settings:
