cannot shred a few picture files

i downloaded some pictures in a rar file
i managed to shred all of them except a few
in the shredder, these pictures are marked with - read-only, hidden, system

i can delete them and they go into the recycle bin, but can't shred them

i think this could be some type of malware. Can you help out?
any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.
i hope i don't have to do a system recovery....
