    Hi @ Wilders

I have a particular and irritating problem and would request ideas on how to resolve it.

I am using Chrome Desktop latest version on Win 10 x64

I am accessing this page:- https://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/ which loads fine, however when I want to read any article by clicking on the links/articles nothing happens.

If I load the same page using MS Edge (Chrome based) it works fine all links open.

Returning to Chrome, if I right click on any article/link in:- https://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/ and select open link in new tab or new Window, they open fine.

So why can I not open the articles/ links by simply clicking on them and why does right click work on opening new page or tab?

    Thank you

    Terry

USA still the best. But barely.
Opens links fine in Vivaldi & Chromium. Vivaldi based on Chromium. And Chrome based on Chromium. But stick with Chrome if you want.

Same issue presents with Firefox -- can only open the links with right click > open in new tab.

Using latest Firefox v87.0 links open fine with left-click.

An extension is then the likely culprit.

Left-click to open link is now working on that site for me in Firefox.

Did you disable an extension to resolve?

First I disabled extensions to test and opened using left click with no problem.

    Cleaned the browser with CCleaner.

A few minutes later I again tried with all extensions enabled and was able to open with left-click.

I thought hawki's theory about an extension causing the anomaly would be the reason, but I guess not. Strange issue...I have no idea.

    Hi All

In addition I have also cleaned, browsing history, then cookies and other site data, no joy!!

Then I used Shadow defender to disable my Chrome profile whilst in Shadow mode.

It then creates a new profile, I can NOW OPEN all links on the https://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/ page

So it is something to do with my profile, but everything I have tried so far doesn't work. At this stage it is a step too for me to create a new Profile with the attendant problems so I would welcome further suggestions.

    Thank you

    Terry

firefox told me that links are obeyed by a click javascript. i need to verify with chromium here.

i have/had similar "issues" on other sites that regular left clicks do not work, however, right click, open in new tab helped out. but this is due ublock.

no, chromium is doing it right.

any other antivirus as defender running?
