Cannot make a backup with version 7 (638)

Hello,

just recently I have not been able to make a backup copy of my C partition.

It freezes at about 7-9 percent completed.Or reboots the computer.

This is using the boot disk.

Ive chkdsk the drive, and defragmented several times. The system runs fine otherwise.

was using SP2 but uninstalled it and am presently using SP1 with all the updates

Im using an abit IC7-Max3 motherboard
no raid and I have 3 Sata hardrives, 2 on Intel chip

I used to be able to backup fine.

I have not changed any bios settings

any ideas?

 

One more thing,

I am trying to create the image of the operating system on the Intel ICHR chipset to the hardrive on the silicone image
