Cannot logon

Hi, my friends computer recently has been acting wierd lately, showing signs of malicious software, even randomly shuts down! And thats what happened, she was working when the computer randomyl decides to shut down. Looses all of her work, and now cannot log in. The password to her user account seems to have changed. What can we do to save her music/files if we cant logon? Help would be greatly appreciated.

 

So logon already - http://home.eunet.no/pnordahl/ntpasswd/ Knoppix 5.1.1'll save the rest. Not sure? This or have'er reinstall.

You can also try to create with another computer an Avira CD (Dr Web has one too) which will clean the OS from the outside.You have to be careful when cleaning, not to delete files that might have important functions in the OS. In that respect Dr Web seems to be less offensive than Avira.
