Caught a *hitload of spyware when I clicked on a site link from a google search last night. It disabled all of my preventative measures and started downloading files while I quickly pulled the power on my cable modem. Ran ad-aware and deleted 350 items. I was connected to the site for under 15 seconds. Ran spy-bot and pulled 5 more items. Ran process viewer and found sandboxer, ran hijack this and found 5 more items. Ran msconfig and noticed to apps that loaded without names and unchecked those. Saw post that next step may be to run spywareblaster to see what it picks up but I get page cannot be displayed error message on the download link. I will include a copy of my hijack this and take whatever suggestions you may have to return my system back to me. I was hoping that it was just a problem with the page i wanted to view.

Regarding just the download issues - the site is currently experiencing some problems but should be back up soon.

A direct download link is here: http://www.javacoolsoftware.net/downloads/spywareblastersetup.exe

    Hi sobitthen,

    Welcome to Wilders!!!

Be sure you have nothing disabled in msconfig and reboot.

You have the peper trojan. Download THIS program and run it following the instructions.

Next please download the latest copy of CWShredder, close all windows, run it and click FIX, and follow the instructions given.

Reboot and post a new HJT log.

    Regards,
    Kent

    Hi sobitthen,

Your log looks clean except for one minor item.

Check the following item in HijackThis.
Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Connection Wizard,Shellnext = wmplayer.exe //ICWLaunch

Reboot and let me know if you are still having any problems.

    Regards,
    Kent

Even that odd file in recycle bin is ok?
There was a few odd looking .exe files that caught my attention.
But , as per your guide, I will check just that one and reboot.
    We'll see what happens.. Thanks..

I did some searching on that (that is why it took me a while to respond) and when that particular entry was fixed on other forums, the person could not get their system to shut down. In the end they ended up restoring that entry from HJT BackUp....

    Let's see what happens....

    Regards,
    Kent

Well I emptied the Norton protected files and the recycle bin and it re-booted fine.
Ran Norton system works 2003 and used the fix windows problems, saw the link to the missing file.. checked fix all and rebooted.. all is fine so far..
