Cannot contact server - intermittent

Hi,

I run a school network where we have around 280 computers connecting to a NOD32 server.

When I look at the server console there are loads that cannot connect to the server or download interrupted. They do update eventually but they seem to log alot of errors. When I install NOD32 v3 on a client and go to update it fails saying it cannot contact the server.

I have got round this by stopping and restarting a couple of services. The services are

"ESET RA HTTP Server"
"ESET Remote Administrator Server"

When I do this the client connects straight away but after a while it goes back to how it was.

What is causing this to happen and is there a way round it so the clients connect correctly each time?

 

The internal HTTP update server from ESET has some flaws when many clients connect to it for updates. You may be better of using a third party web-server to host your update files or use shares to update from.

How can I set up Microsoft IIS as an ESET update Mirror server?
