4 RCMP officers, gunman die in raid

    http://sask.cbc.ca/regional/servlet/View?filename=rcmp-shootings050303

This is the worst loss of life of law enforcement officers since 1885 in Canada. :'(

These marijuana grow ops have got to be stopped. Hopefully the powers that be will finally open their eyes to this scourge and act swiftly to stop tragedies like this from ever happening again.

I am about 3 hours from you snowbound. Chatham to be exact.

We had a fellow last year here who got busted with over $100,000 worth of pot. The law fiqured that he had made well over $200,000 before he got caught(its hidden, he said it was wasted away). Because it was his first offence he got 90days(on week-ends  ). Now everyone around here says for 200 grand I do the 90 days straight. I know I would. I will leave it at this, because I don"t want to get political. But the law has become a joke in our communist country!

My hat comes off to all the brave law enforcement officers no matter what part of the world they are in.
Drugs are the scourge of this great earth.

My Dad is in the force, I feel for the Families who are affected. And will be forever. I admire people who can stand up for the rights of all good people, unfortunatley, this is one of the tragic stories.

Reading further on the slayings - the officers were ambushed. One officer on the scene was only in the force 2 or 3 weeks. What a sad ending to a career.

May the families find comfort in knowing that many shared their pain and that many honored their service to protect the citizens of your great country today.

"In Memoriam" mostly because my sister is a police sergeant, who has attended too many such things. I hope it'll never be her. :'(
