    hi
i had to add a mico sd to a windows tablet ,it's winpad with keyboard

well the main ram is only 32gb , i bought a 64gb micro ssd

is much better format this mico sd in ntfs or exfat?

and is better to add to the main memory creating a folder and assign the mico sd to a folder
or use windows preferences set to use mico sd for photos,documents...

the main memory it's full , and windows 10 can 't even update ,there are only 3gb left without micro sd
    thanks

    mantra,

Strange, I wonder why the Win10 partition is so full? I'd expect it to be half empty. Have a look with Treesize and check what is using the space.

    What size is your pagefile.sys?

    What size is your hiberfil.sys?

Can you post a screenshot of Disk Management?

Can you post a screenshot of the contents of the C: drive? Just double click the C: drive.

You can use two flash drives to update Windows, with the second one being used for storage space.
    https://www.windowscentral.com/how-install-any-major-update-windows-10-low-storage-devices

I've got a Windows 10 laptop, which also only has 32GB of storage and it's just too little storage space. No matter what you move to or store on the Micro SD card, you still won't have much free space on your internal drive. While you can install some software on the SD card, things like the swap file and Restore Points can't be moved to a different drive. As well as that, as you've already experienced you will not have enough storage space to upgrade to a new build from Windows Update. As I posted, there is a way around this, but it is a hassle.

I was given the laptop. There is no way I would buy something with such limited storage.

My Windows tablet has a 64 GB drive, GPT disk partitioned by me to contain...

Win10 partition of 33 GB, 45% free. I've installed only the software I need. No games. Data partition of 24 GB, 80% free. Also a micro SD card which I use for images. There are no issues with Windows upgrades.

I just checked my desktop test computer. Used space in the Win10 partition is 15 GB. My main computer which started with Win8 five years ago and has been upgraded to Win8.1 and Win10 has 31 GB of used space in the Win10 partition. I wouldn't get that one into a 32 GB partition. I like my OS to be lean and mean with space.

I could get by with a 22 GB tablet. I'm only using just over half of my OS partition.
How are you progressing with the screenshots?

Take a screenshot with the Win10 Snipping Tool. Save it as a .PNG

I'd create a single exFAT partition on that SD card as suggested by the SD Card Association.

Mine does. Have you tried the card in a SD card reader?

No, you can only do that on Android phones, not on Windows.

mantra, good news. Win10 Home or Pro? With Pro you can delay the updates but they eventually install.
