Did you read the man page?

Or if you have it installed /usr/share/truecrypt/doc/TrueCrypt-User-Guide.pdf -or- the man page is also located http://www.truecrypt.org/docs/ --- the linux section.

Did you check their forum? http://forums.truecrypt.org/ (requires registration to view or post)

thanks, i had looked at the man page, and it doesn't look that difficult to setup, but i just wanted to make sure i got it right. i don't think i looked at the pdf though.

i'm starting to think it might have a gui, the guide about it in a linux magazine i bought today and the pdf both show gui's. does it have a gui?
