Hi, folks: I often ask myself this silly question: When using these apps such as Sandboxie, BufferZone, Shadowuser or DeepFreeze etc, All input data are contained within that magic box/partition/drive, nothing has been written onto actual drive, does that mean HHD stay untouched, and its life can be prolonged. Hope some experts can share your knowhow. Thanks.

It has still been written on the disk, just inside wherever the app has made its virtual drive. So you still have the same number of read and writes from the disk, unless the app stores everything in the RAM, which I doubt highly.

    So a short answer, no
