    Hi Bojo,

When you try to connect to the update server do you get any message on your screen?
Do you use any program or tweak like SafeXP where you have enabled not to connect to windows update?

    Hi Bojo,

There might be something at this site that could help in solving the problem, even though the specific error message they are referring to may not be what you are seeing:

    "Windows Update Fails" http://updatexp.com/0x800A138F.html

You could also try using the url with the https in it to see if that might help.

    Hi Bojo....

I had a similar thing happen around 18 months ago and did two things.

First I cleared out all the Temporary Internet Files Cache
Second I deleted the UpdateClass file [see pic] that you need to update, the Windows Update checks for that first and if missing, opens up another window for you to re-download...

Snap gave a good trouble-shooting link to try also ;)

This worked for me, so if all else fails first, then try that and see what happens.

    Cheers, TAS.

It could be that your popup stopper prevents the update site opening the new window required.
Try diabling your popup stopper, and see if that works.
