    Hi all,
recently I "cought" some spayware or malware that messed up my system. I have windows XP home, I have for protection: Norton 2002 internet security, norton system works 2002 updated weekly and I have also Spy boot search & destroy, adware 6.1 and I used to have spy blaster 3.0 as well. The pest is a file that norton first detected but could not fix, quarentine or delete. After that, my home page in explorer gets hijacked to some search engine and then I get pop ups telling me I have been infected with spy ware and to click to go for the removal "spyware programs". Ha!

The first time I managed to get rid of the pest, but this second time... not only I can't get rid of it, now Spy blaster say it can not load cause is corrupted. I removed it and download it several times with same results. after running adware, and eliminate all the entries in the registry from some coolwebsearch site they keep coming back. I removed the sp.html file from my temp folder and eventually keeps coming back, other temp files it creates don't allow me to remove them with nothing!! No antivirus, no quarentine, no renaming, no moving, no deleting. This is driving me up the walls.. Neither symantec security check neither mcafee web check offers any removal tools.
Help!!! Please!!!! Thank you and I hope I haven't exceded my space, this looks sooo long.

First of all, you are running hijackthis out of a temporary directory. Can you please create a folder in My Documents and call it Hijack (or something similar). Then extract hijackthis into the folder you have created and run it from there. The reason for this is that Hijackthis cannot create backup files whilst it is being run from a temporary folder

    When you have done this, then make sure all browsers and windows are closed except for hijackthis and put a check against the following and click 'fix checked';

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer,SearchURL = http://bigbr.cc (obfuscated)
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://bigbr.cc (obfuscated)
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = http://bigbr.cc (obfuscated)
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,CustomizeSearch = http://bigbr.cc (obfuscated)
    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = http://bigbr.cc (obfuscated)
    R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,CustomizeSearch = http://bigbr.cc (obfuscated)
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,HomeOldSP = about:blank
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer,Search = http://bigbr.cc (obfuscated)
    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer,Search = http://bigbr.cc (obfuscated)
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {3D018F9B-3F61-47B8-A00E-4D0F0B1F5913} - (no file)

Close Hijackthis, restart machine and post a fresh hijackthis log

    Regards

Thank you so much Subratam. you are
Actually I did not know which temp folder it went, I looked for it with no luck, so I created the folder in My documents anyway and downloaded it again. If you happen to know which temp folder it would go by default, please let me know so i can erase the extra copy.

Here is the new log after scaning and fixinig the files you recomended.

Done all that and posted newest log after following instructions from Subratam, what else do i need to do? I tried downloading Spyware Blaster again, and after installation it won't start. This is the message I get:

This program has been damaged, possibly by a bad sector of the hard drive or a virus. Please reinstall it.

    Thanks for your help.

    Lets try this,

Uninstall completely SpywareBlaster. Restart machine and then do a complete clean install of spywareblaster. see if that works
