Can anyone explain this strange Firefox (actually Cyberfox) behavior?

The preschool grand kids talked mom and dad into staying over last night around and 3:00AM EDST one of them wants a drink. I just come down stairs afterwards and check out the www. One of my bookmarks is UK Technology (http://.v3.co.uk) where I read news and app reviews daily. The only thing that happens when I click the bookmark is a tab opens with the address but above the taskbar there is no transferring/waiting/connecting tab. Finally I click IE TAB 2 and it opens right up. I click back to Cf and the site is gone. I try again to load it from the bookmark with the same result. I checkout a few other sites, try again from the bookmark and it's working. So what could have caused this odd behavior? Thank you!

    Hi ratchet

It appears that the link you posted, i.e. (http://.v3.co.uk) has an extra '.' character after the 2nd '/' character and before the 'v' character - which is not a valid URL address.

I would check/edit the bookmark address to make sure it is: (http://v3.co.uk) or what is missing is the www prior to the ".v3.co.uk" (http://www.v3.co.uk) that may be the cause of the problem.

That must have been it. Interesting that it suddenly caused an issue and/or how it got there. I opened the properties of the bookmark and re-entered the url. Then I opened it with the bookmark but it still had the extra ".". in the address. I closed/opened Cf and the bookmark rendered the url correctly. Thank you!
