Thank you for interesting in Acronis Disk Backup Software.

Please note that Acronis True Image 10.0 Home is designed to perform backup/restore operations on the computer where it installed. One can also use Home version of Acronis True Image to back up networked shared folders using file-based backup. However, we cannot guarantee that in this case open files will be backed up correctly. Check this previous post of mine for details.

If you wish to back up/restore the remote computer, we would recommend that you use Acronis True Image 9.1 Workstation or Acronis True Image 9.1 Enterprise Server (depending on the operating system you use on the computers).

Using one of the above products you will be able to install Acronis True Image Agent on the remote computer, which would allow you to back up/restore disk(s)/partition(s) as well as file(s)/folder(s) via network with no issue.

Please also note that all version of Acronis True Image allow you to schedule backup operations. Check chapter "Scheduling tasks" in the respective User's Guide.
