Can a "boot" flash drive only be used for that?

I'm like crazily prepared for booting disaster, e.g. W7's boot cd, Paragon's, a flash drive and the OEM W7 disc. I never use portable apps so I have two questions. Can I have several apps on the same drive? I assume you can. Once you've made flash drive to boot from, is that the only thing you can use it for? Thank you!

    ratchet,

Do you mean can you store data files on the UFD too? Yes, you can. It will still boot when needed.
