Somehow I managed to associate cache.ndb in C:\Program Files\ESET\Cache] to notepad.exe (when opening the file with notepad I see 'jibberish' text). Can this do any harm and is there a way to reverse the action (if necessary at all)?
It won't do any harm but you can set the files back to default on XP with this file by Doug Knox. http://www.dougknox.com/xp/tips/xp_easy_file.htm
Hi Ronjor, I have taken a look at the list you provided through the link but I can't seem to find the .ndb-extension in it (or I am completely overlooking it of course). Does this mean I have to type something like this 'assoc.ndb=' in order to correct it or should I leave things like they are at the moment?
A new install shows that .ndb files are associated with notepad and the reason being is because that's where it stores cache. There's no concern in leaving it as is. Bubba
Somehow .ndb already got associated with notepad before I did a reinstall of NOD32 2.7. I will leave things as the are, because that is what you also suggest, right?
