If CA actually put some cash into improving the product- taking it back to the days of VET- that would be excellent. But I bet the program itself is the same and the Cloud is farmed out.

can't help thinking it's 1 cent to get card details for the renewal after 6 months...
"Automatic Renewal Service provided by CA will keep your computer protected from the latest internet threats by automatically renewing your subscription at the then current renewal price (plus applicable tax). When you buy the download version of this product using your credit card, your subscription will automatically renew"

I really think a free version will be helpful if they wanna show if they improved the product..but offers like this to hold the credit card for renewal is not a very good idea IMO:mad: o_O

They probably want to increase the user base in order to strengthen their (most likely) weak cloud. After all, their signature-based detection isn't good at all, so they're trying this method to get some users for their cloud database.......

I tried it for about two weeks in my VM and I was happy with it. They have improved their detection and protection capabilities. I need to test it further though.

    Thanks.

By what I read thus far I think CA AV is the most despised and hated software in the industry not even CAV (Comodo Anti-Virus) can compete in that level of hatred. Keep it up guys when it comes to CA AV because my feeling toward CAV is not beautiful either, so who am I to preach? :D.

    Thanks.

By the by, I forgot to tell you to check their forum and behold all the people who are using CA AV. I've got to mention also that they are not all happy campers.

    Thanks.
