This is alarming : "Studies show that at least 20 percent of the business in Australia are still running their servers on Windows Server 2003, and what’s worse, 25 percent of the IT decision makers working for these companies weren’t even aware that Microsoft planned to end support for this old OS version."

e.g. The Australian tax payer in the state of Victoria will pay $4.4 million for extended Windows Server 2003 support after July 14, for this incompetence. The cost may double after 12 months, and so on for every year after that.

How can an IT dept. operate in a total fog when it comes to the most basic of proactive security tasks?
