I tried for 4 hours to burn some files to a DVD in Windows 7 Pro with no luck.
Had to resort to InfraRecorder to get the job done.
Things just don't need to be this difficult.
Would like to discard "Infrarecorder" because it's linux and I would like
    to stay with Windows stuff.
Hope it's not hopeless. No Roxio for me Please.

What do you mean with InfraRecorder being Linux or for Linux?

If you don't like this one, you could try ImgBurn. It's free and does the job. --http://www.imgburn.com/

Nero also has a free version. -http://www.nero.com/eng/downloads-kwik-media-free.php

I actually adore burning audio cds in win7 now, unlike in every version prior.

But if you are doing any other sort of burning, IMGburn is the tool of choise IMHO.

    Thanks folks for responding.
I was trying to burn text files. Not audio or video.
File format is windows 7 Live File System format.
DVD mfg. is Memorex. Used the default speed in Windows 7.
Running a Dell T3400 with an upgrade version of Windows 7 Pro.
This took me from Vista to Windows 7 Pro.
Running ESET SS with the Firewall in interactive mode.
Ccleaner and Defender is turned off.
The program either hangs or the files are not on the DVD.
Getting messages that files are pending that I have no way of deleting
or know what to do with. The DVD sometimes showed files on it.
When I tried to view them I could see nothing.
I know this is my fault as I am doing something wrong.
A few pointers to get me started would be appreciated

I was always under the impression the InfraRecorder was a Linux product.

Make a folder & insert them in the folder or Zip them. I think if you burn them to the root of the CD as text you won t see them using some burners especially image burners like image burn.

Try CdburnerXp ( very easy to use ) or Imgburn ( more powerful ). They are free , light and awesome.
